Tiny Studio Released

I’ve been working on this theme for the past few days and today, I released this theme for public download. I supposed to do that yesterday but due to connection problem, the file cannot be uploaded to the server. In the meantime, me and my YM buddy, Xeroxaven, managed to make this theme valid CSS and XHTML. Thanks to Xero.

So here is the theme, available for download. But before that, please read some notes below.

This theme was designed to match the concept of a small design studio. This theme uses custom fields to display the top 10 latest artworks in the Latest Artworks section. All you have to do is create a new category, for example, Artworks. Note the category ID. Then, open works.php and edit the category ID. You also can change the number of thumbnails you want to display there. When posting a latest artwork, go to the custom fields at the bottom of your Write Post page, fill in the Key field with works and the value is your thumbnail’s URL. Make sure you post under Artworks category.

For the Links page, I have categorized the links to their respective categories. You may edit them in blogroll.php. All you have to do is to change the categories ID. That’s it.

For the Archives page, you will need to install a plugin called wp-archives (included in download file). Download and extract the plugin into your wp-content/plugins folder and activate the plugin. Write a new page, name it Archives and copy this code to its content:

And you’re done.

I was just wondering if there’s a way to get the .psd file for the header. I’d like to display my blog’s name instead of the name of the theme.

Wonderful theme. Until this day I have never once been impressed with a single column theme. Never thought I’d ever want to use one. You changed my mind.

My question is: Is there a simple way to add Widget support to the bottom area of the page? Possibly where it says Browse By Tags?

Thanks to all for the comments. I appreciate your interest in my theme. To James, you have to make the theme widget-ready first. Here is the most simple tutorial:

Simply create a functions.php file (copy the code given) and upload it on your wp-content/themes/ folder.

Then, grab yourself a copy of widget plugin, upload it on your plugins folder and activate it.

hi.
this is , by far, one of the best looking theme for wordpress…and i did saw and tested a LOT OF THEM…
Still trying to fitting the theme for my needs.

Keep up ur excellent work, and please give more one collum themes to the world… we can sure use it =)
